‘Qualicoat
Welcomes ACP’
ACP Coatings Limited are the latest architectural powder
coating specialists to join the ranks of the Qualicoat UK
& Ireland Association. The Association continues to see
a rise in membership and the standard is now widely
specified by systems companies and increasingly within
building specifications.
Based in Elland, West Yorkshire; ACP was formed by Stewart
and Andrew Swallow to provide a quality architectural
coating service within the North East region. The company
was named after Stewart’s three sons; Andrew, Christopher
and Paul.
Since its formation, the company has grown rapidly and now
runs two fully automated horizontal coating plants and a
staff of 30 within a 25,000 sq ft facility. The company has
the capacity to handle 7m lengths through both
pre-treatment and the powder coating process and can also
offer both resin fill and polyamide thermal breaks.
Andrew comments on the reasons for joining Qualicoat, “One
of the main reasons for joining Qualicoat was ACP Coatings
aim to achieve the highest possible standard available for
architectural finishes and to be able to offer an
exceptional quality finish, keeping our customers at the
forefront of the industries advancing technology.”
Qualicoat have very stringent levels of monitoring and
testing during the powder coating process. ACP’s technical
laboratory is fully equipped to the highest quality
standard and is closely coupled with the fully automated
production facility which ensures testing and traceability
records are readily available.
On being asked about the benefits gained so far from
membership, Andrew comments, “My first impressions of the
Qualicoat membership, having now attended two Qualicoat
meetings, is that it’s a good forum to meet other
applicators, pre-treatment specialist and powder suppliers.
The ability to be able to discuss and contribute on the
powder coating specifications is also of great benefit to
our business.”
Joining Qualicoat has also allowed the company to become
approved applicators of all the leading suppliers of
architectural grade powders and ACP Coatings now aim to
grow their client portfolio based on quality and service.
